Specs for the 2.0T same as RDX- 272 HP/280 torque, 10 speed auto, same infotainment system. They STILL won’t release Type-S power figures but 3.0V6 turbo confirmed. All the details here
https://www.motor1.com/news/425816/2021-acura-tlx-debut-review/
This 2.0T SH_AWD and Genesis G80 2.5T are now strong contenders for my next car.

It looks pretty! Maybe it’s just me being opti mistic, but looking at the wheel spacing front-rear... i s it going to be RWD?

Oof. That interior is woeful. The car itself looks like a four door sedan built between 2015 and now. Giant wheels, low overhangs and a giant parcel shelf behind the rear seat. I remember fondly a time when cars had trunks.

No, it’s FWD based AWD. SH-AWD is really good you’ll almost not miss having RWD most of the time.

Side shot looks great, rear is kinda bland. The tail lights appear small and make it seem like a huge car. Interior is a little busy but some of that could be from a wide angle camera lens.

As the resident Acura fanboi (TL/TLX/RDX owner) I would be driving this instead of the RDX if these interior upgrades came a year early. I just couldn’t see myself with the same cockpit for 12 years.

Putting the door handles on the styling lines is an odd decision ...

So many cars have liftback styling without being being liftbacks. It really pisses me off.
The MKZ is one that really annoys me. I remember when they came out watching an interview with a Lincoln marketing guy who said the reason it’s not a liftback was just because Lincoln didn’t feel a hatchback for their premium branding. Ugh

I’ll take t he Acura over the Cadillac just because of that atrocious, visi bility killing black trim on the c-pillar that looks even worse in person ( I have seen it)

Hey good for Acura, I think it looks good. The powertrains are strong and the interior is decently well praised in the RDX. The taillights feel weird to me but I think that’s something that will change in person.

It doesn’t d o that much for visibility from the interior. It looks bad but it also allows for an easier placement of the side curtain airbag.

Can’t rely on Acura of all the manufacturers to go crazy with styling. It’s 2020. most sedans look the same in the profile anyway- the “coupe-style” roof that blends into a trunk. “ Looks like a liftback but not really a liftback”
Just comes down to personal preference, brand, performance,
interiors
then.

Its obvious they tried hard to achieve R WD styling. Which tells me the front end might have a ridiculous amount of length and overhang, and interior cabin and cargo room will suffer. Unless the entire car itself is very long.

We'll have to wait for better pictures, but, so far, the Acura looks better. That black plastic DLO fail on the c-pillar really cheapens the car

I mean, the profile looks like they did a good job pushing the wheels forward toward the corners. Maybe they’s putting the axle in front of the engine as opposed to behind it? Mid-engine FWD?
(EDIT: For clarification, this is a typical FWD layout,
with the axles located behind the engine/trans... my speculation being that Honda has maybe flipped it so that the axles are now aligned in front of the engine/trans?)

Non-issue. My Regal has a similar plastic “window”. With the sportback shape and large rear door window there’s still plenty of visibility. If these cars had a more conventional sedan shape with a steeper C pillar that window wouldn’t even be there.

I like the look. Not too conservative but not too eclectic either.
Is it a bit under-powered for what looks like a sports sedan? It *LOOKS* like it’s trying to be a 400 hp car to me, but 272 seems, I don’t know, like it doesn’t match the styling or something.

272 for the 2.0T, will be over 360HP for the 3.0T Type-S

3 inch longer wheelbase and an 8 inch longer dash to axle. Same passenger volume as before. They made it longer just for the styling.

I like the looks but the interior controls look like a bit of a mess. It looks like the screen is too far away to touch and I see what looks like a trackpad on the center console. I prefer the touchscreen for infotainment. It also has pushbutton drive selection which is okay but the placement looks odd. It does have a volume knob though, it’s by the cup holder. It could work fine but I’d have to play with it first.
On the plus side the steering wheel looks excellent and I like the rest of the interior and exterior.

This is definitely the most attractive Acura since the third-gen TL. My main problem with the outside are the door handles, I get that it has to follow the character line but the way one is so much higher than the other bothers me. Maybe if that character line was a bit more horizontal, I don’t know. Otherwise, pretty nice looking.
Interior looks good too, and I have hated most recent Acura interiors. Glad they’ve finally figured out that one decent touchscreen is better than two crappy ones.
The main thing that would stop me from considering this car is the supposed RWD Mazda6, which will also have an inline 6. Assuming it happens, that could be a far more compelling package from an enthusiast point of view.
But, overall, this is pretty impressive at first glance, and actually looks like a worthwhile upgrade over the Accord, which has not been the case for a while.

I need the specs for the Type-S before I officially endorse this generation.
Looks nice for a Honda, though.
